Fasting Guidelines
Monday through Friday
6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
During this time, we will fast from food and consume liquids only.
During the meals and times we would normally spend eating, we are asking everyone to intentionally replace that time with reading God’s Word and prayer. The purpose is not just to skip a meal, but to turn our attention, appetite, and dependence toward the Lord.
Allowed during fasting hours:
- Water
- 100% Juice
- Non-caffeinated tea
- Smoothies
- Broth
- Protein Shakes
Please avoid sodas, coffee, caffeinated drinks, and sugary soft drinks during and after fasting hours.
After 6:00 PM, you may eat, but we are asking everyone to continue the consecration by avoiding sweets and desserts. This includes Cakes, Cookies, Candy, Ice cream, Pastries, and other desserts.
Fruits are acceptable.
Medical Considerations
If you have medical needs, take medication that requires food, are pregnant, nursing, diabetic, under medical care, or have any health concerns, please consult your physician before participating in the food portion of the fast.
If you are unable to fast from food, we still encourage you to consecrate yourself during this week. You can participate by limiting distractions, avoiding secular music, refraining from sweets, social media, unnecessary technology, entertainment, or anything else the Lord may be leading you to lay aside.
The heart behind this week is not punishment or pressure. It is surrender.
Consecration Guidelines
During this week, we are asking everyone to intentionally limit distractions and make more room for God. Please limit social media and technology use to business, work, ministry, family, and necessary needs only.
We are also asking everyone to refrain from:

Our Focus
The goal is not just to give something up. The goal is to let God deal with what is in us.
During this week, we are making space for God to:
Search our hearts
Reveal what needs to be surrendered
Purify our motives
Deepen our roots in Christ
Strengthen our obedience
Unify Planted Church
Prepare us for what He has assigned us to carry
Produce spiritual fruit in us
This is not about performance. This is about surrender. We are not just fasting from things. We are making room for God to form Christ in us.
